Margaret was my very first teacher in primary school in 1965 - at Flora Stevenson School in Edinburgh Scotland. I was her favourite I think - she wrote to me often when she went to Canada and I have only just made it out here for the first time in my life at age 57 - thought I might catch up with her. So sad to hear she died in 2004 and I guess many years have passed and I missed catching up with her but just to say I remember her a if it was yesterday - her lovely chocolate brown hair - i was 5! She might have been 21/22? She was my favourite teacher ever and at the age of 5 taught me that anything was possible. I am now a professor of nursing and just got an OBE this year and have 3 lovely children. I remember her so fondly.

Tony, Sam & Jodie and family, we are so sorry to hear of Margaret's passing. Tony-you, Margaret & the girls brought so much happiness to our parents, Edna & Larry, on Lost Lake Rd. You were the best neighbours and most wonderful friends. Our parents loved watching the girls grow up and cherished their life milestones as surrogate grandparents. Margaret's delicious shortbread was always a popular treat at Christmas.
Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Remembering Margaret with great fondness.

As a parent of three children who had Maggie as their Grade 1 teacher, I was so saddened to hear of her passing. Maggie was the epitome of teachers who make a difference in children's lives, and I phoned each one of them to let them know - they were all so very sad. I saw Maggie about 18 months ago when she was in remission, and looking forward to a trip to Australia with Tony, and she was so excited and looked wonderful, so it was a shock to me to learn of her passing. As the circle of life turns, my oldest son is now a teacher, and always hopes he can be as loved and respected as Maggie was - she was so special to so many children and an amazing example of someone who loved her job, and the children she taught. Rest in Peace Maggie, you have left a legacy that will never be forgotten to so many who were fortunate enough to cross your path over the years! The Saunders Family

Tony and family, it is with heavy hearts that we learned of Margaret's passing. It has been a long time since we saw each other but will always remember her fondly.
