Margaret D'Arcy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 22, 2022.
Margaret "Maggie" Schrero D'Arcy passed away on August 16th, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born on August 14th, 1960 in New York City to Ruth Lieberman Schrero and Elliot Mitchell Schrero. She received an A.B. degree in history and theater arts from Brown University with honors, and an MBA from New York University. After a long career in the media arts, she received a degree from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences and became a licensed massage therapist, specializing in craniosacral therapy.

During the past 12 years, she was the sole proprietor of a craniosacral practice, WellTouch Therapy. She was deeply devoted to her clients and the beneficial impact it had on their wellbeing. Maggie was passionate about the performing arts. She was a proud member of the Blue Hill Troupe. She was a creative choreographer, an enthusiastic dancer, singer, and performer. She was a voracious reader, an avid student of anatomy, and a kind and thoughtful friend to many.

Maggie was a fierce advocate for the rights of all beings, and an animal lover. Her philanthropic causes included Southern Poverty Law Center, Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC), and Planned Parenthood. Donations in her memory to any of these organizations would be appreciated.

Maggie is survived by her beloved husband, Keith D'Arcy, her sister Elizabeth Schrero Cooper, brother-in-law, Jeffrey Cooper, niece Arielle Jae, and nephew Danny. A private celebration of her life is planned for late September.

Keith I was so saddened to find out today that Maggie has passed away. She was one of the most memorable, nicest and supportive colleagues in my entire time at EMI Publishing. I will always remember her smile, your smile when she was around, and how perfect a couple you made. Keep strong and live the life she would have wanted you to.

I have only just found out, Maggie is gone. I am so sad. She was wonderful. She was also a good body worker. Even though we hadn't spoken since just after her mother died, I thought of her often. My condolences to her husband and family. Rest in Power, Maggie.

My deepest sympathies to the D'Arcy and Schrero families. Maggie's kind heart, intelligence and wonderful sense of humor will live on in my memory forever. She had a gift for welcoming anyone and everyone. Jim and I so enjoyed our get togethers with Maggie and Keith at New Found Lake. Her spirit lives on in all of us who were so privileged to know her, she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Devastated by this news. My deepest condolences to Maggie´s loved ones. Maggie holds a special place in my heart both as a healer and a friend. She is a wonderful light who brightened so many of our lives. Thank you, Maggie, for all that you taught me. For figuring out ailments doctors couldn´t pinpoint. For showing me those therapeutic exercises. I will miss you, dear friend.

I recently, in the past 2 or 3 years, reconnected with Maggie and was so thrilled every time she "liked" a Facebook post or sent me a short message. She was lovely, loving and a beautiful person. I regret so much that plans to visit each other and really catch up and reconnect in person never came to fruition. May all that Maggie was and did be a guiding light for those of us who loved her.
