Margaret Edwards

Age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 after an extended illness.

Margaret was born in Primrose, PA on December 29. 1929, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (O'Connor) Lynch. She was known as Nan to her grandchildren and Margie to her family and friends. A loving and devoted homemaker, she cherished time spent with her family. She enjoyed sewing and was always available for our last minute alterations. Margaret was a long time member of St. Matthew's Church, who lived a prayerful life.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Edwards and her siblings Joseph Lynch, Rosemary Schmidt and Kathryn Ennis.

She will be dearly missed by her children, J.T. Edwards and wife Christy of Wilmington, Maureen Murphy and husband Michael of Landenberg, PA, and Erin Riley of Gainesville, FL; her grandchildren who provided her with much love and laughter, Michael(Renee),and Kevin Murphy , Daniel, Robert, and Noah Edwards, Jacob(Kristin), Evan, and Kalli Riley; her great granddaughter Peyton Murphy; her sister in laws Alecia LaScala, Margaret Barr, and Bridget McDevitt along with numereous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Somerford House for their kindness and compassion during Mom's stay.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 8th at 11 AM at St. Matthew's Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Woodcrest. Friends are invited to visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, or on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 AM at St. Matthew's Church. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St Matthew's Outreach Program, 1013 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19808 or Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.

J.T.,Christy, Maureen, Erin, and Family,
So sorry for your loss. I used to love going to visit Mrs. Edwards when I still lived in DE! She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed her family so much. She's in Heaven right now with your dad. Have comfort knowing that she isn't suffering anymore. Prayers for all of you.
