Margaret FARROW Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 28, 2004.
FARROW _ Margaret "Ivy" (nee Topley) died on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the age of 92. Ivy resided at The Lodge at Broadmead. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank. She will be dearly missed by twin daughters, Maureen Gordon and Myrna Rainsberry (Ken); three grandchildren, Shanley, Matthew, and Christopher (Kathleen) Rainsberry; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Jr., and Mika. Her step-children Wayne and Bill, and step-grandchildren Brad, Dawn, Jan, Mark, Brent, Lisa and Mark W., (along with their families), will miss her too. Ivy is also survived by her cousin Bill Topley (Connie) and nephew Dr. Stewart Topley (Brenda) in Calgary. Ivy was born in Calgary on April 14, 1912, the night the Titanic was struck by an iceberg. She graduated from Crescent Heights High School and attended business school before she started to work at Eatons. While there she organized a Recreation Club and taught swimming lessons. Ivy also worked at the Bay for a number of years as an Optician in the Optometrist Department. In 1974 Ivy and Frank moved to Delta, BC, where Mom enjoyed painting (oil and watercolour), fishing excursions in the trailer with Frank, and gardening. She took many trips to faraway places with family and friends but most of all she enjoyed being closer to all her family. A celebration of Ivy's life will be held in the Maple Room at The Lodge at Broadmead on Friday, May 28, 2004, at Noon. Everyone is welcome. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Vancouver Masonic Cemetery, 4305 Halifax Street, Burnaby, BC. Ivy will be buried alongside Papa Frank where they will be together always. It would be appreciated if donations were made to the "Maple Room Project", c/o The Lodge at Broadmead, 4579 Chatterton Way, Victoria, BC V8X 4Y7.
