Obituary LOWELL - Mrs. Margaret Alice (Curran) Foye R.N., 84, a longtime resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood of Lowell, died Friday, April 7, 2006 in a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late Francis R. Foye. She was born in Melrose, MA on April 23, 1921 a daughter of the late Joseph V. and Selina (Hall) Curran. Mrs. Foye was a graduate of St. Mary's Grammar School and St. Mary's High School in Melrose, MA. She received her degree as a Registered Nurse from St. John's School of Nursing, Class of 1942, in Lowell and also took nursing classes at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She worked at various hospitals over her career including Malden Hospital, Winchester Hospital, Key West General Hospital in Key West, FL, Lowell General Hospital, the former St. Joseph's Hospital and the former St. John's Hospital, now known as Saints Memorial Medical Center, the latter part of her career working as a private duty nurse. She was the former president of St. John's Nursing School Alumnae, a post she held for 9 years. She was a former member of the Lowell Rotary Club. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. Mrs. Foye is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Deborah and Edward Reilly of FL, Pamela and Edward Wilk of Lowell, Cynthia and Richard Howe of Lowell and Roberta Foye of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Jonathan Reilly of FL, Kelli Stromski and her husband John of Wakefield, Edward Wilk and Francis Wilk both of Lowell, Ryan Howe and his wife Shelley of NH and Meghan Howe of New York City; three great grandchildren, Liam and Jack Stromski and Camryn Howe; five brothers, James Curran of No. Chelmsford, Peter Curran of Melrose, Paul Curran of Malden, Albert Mundo of Marblehead and William Mundo of NH; a sister, Selina Kuffel of Bedford; also several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews. She was the mother of the late Sharon Foye and sister of the late Bernard Curran, United States Navy, killed in action during World War II and Charles J. Curran.
