Margaret "Peg" Greteman
January 22, 1930 - December 27, 2022
Margaret "Peg" Greteman passed away on Dec. 27, 2022, at the age of 92. A former resident of Fremont, she owned and operated the Spence Shoppe, a clothing boutique that offered her customers stylish women's clothing not found in department stores. She was a member of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and belonged to several women's clubs.
She possessed a generous spirit and a pragmatic approach to life, always allowing her humor to shine through. Some of Peg's favorite pastimes were spending time with her beloved dog, Chloe, gardening, canning, reading, puzzling and watching classic movies. She was known to her friends and Elkhorn neighbors as the "Heineken lady," as she attributed a Heineken a day to her longevity. Peg is survived by her "baby" brother, Jerry (Sheila) Fasbender; four children: Kevin (Mary) Greteman, Michelle Ijem, Kim Schlesinger and Lance (Meg) Greteman; six grandchildren: Nathan, Meghan, Whitney, BJ, Amelia and Otto; and two great-grandchildren, Maddie and Jackson.
Remembrances in Peg's name can be made to the Food Bank for the Heartland or the Dodge County Humane Society. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Reichmuth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Some of the best days of my life were at my grandma's house swimming in the pool or lighting fireworks while she finished off a Heineken with her contagious smile that would light up even the darkest of places. I miss you but I take comfort in knowing you're in a better place now. I love you grandma.

Peg was always a gracious lady whenever I visited the Spence Shoppe. Peg and her daughter Shelly even helped me open a consignment shop in Fremont. She will be missed.

My aunt Peggy was a wonderful person. Her always living away from where I was born, reduced the chances I got to see her. However, when we got a chance to be in one another's company, she always listened intently and somewhere in the conversation you would hear and see her infectious smile and hear her laugh. She will be sorely missed by all. Good bye Auntie. Say, "Hello" to your sister and my mother Beverly, when you get home.
Love,
Jan

I am so sorry for all of you...such a loss.
I LOVED playing dress up at your house because your mom´s clothes and heels fit us! Also loved the off hours shopping at Penney´s . As well as just playing in the yard.
Your in our prayers.

As a child growing up I just loved Peg! I´d hang around long enough near dinner time until she invited me to eat with your family. She always made me feel welcome. It was so nice having your family as backyard neighbors. I am truly sorry for your loss!
