James Clemens Obituary

James V. Clemens, 67, of Greensburg, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Greensburg, a son of the late John P. and Rose (Quinn) Clemens. He was a retired employee of the Elliott Co. in Jeannette, was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg and the Elliott Retirees Club. He was a member of Greensburg V.F.D. Hose Co. 1, for which he served five terms as president and held various other positions in his 49-plus years of service. He was also a member of the Westmoreland County Mohawks, the Westmoreland County Firemen's Association and the Pennsylvania State Firemen's Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Robert Clemens and Bernard Clemens, and a sister, Margaret Bierer. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine (Kepple) Clemens; five sons, Dennis Clemens and his wife, Doreen, of Imperial, Tracy Clemens and his wife, Jodie, of Ellwood City, Roy Clemens and his wife, Laurie, of Moon Township, Jody Clemens and his fiancee, Kimberly Wilkinson, of Greensburg and James V. Clemens Jr. of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Amber, Cody, Samantha and Ryan Clemens; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Clemens of Florida and Victoria Forbes of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the COSHEY-NICHOLSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. Members of the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department and the Westmoreland County Mohawks will hold services Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity. Alvin P. Oskin Jr., supervisor, in charge of arrangements.
