GARY WAS THE GREATEST MENTOR TO YOUNG FOREIGN SERVICE OFFICERS ONE COULD HOPE TO HAVE. I AM SORRY TO HERE THAT HIS WIFE HAS NOW PASSED ON. BUT THEY HAD A WONDERFUL LIFE TOGETHER.

It is with sadness that I just heard of Margaet's passing. I was a genuine pleasure and and great honor for me to share Gary's and her lives while serving in Havana under Gary's ambassadorship. She was a most gracious person. To her son and daughters, my deepest condolences.
