Dear Amy and the Kates Family,
I know by my friendship with Amy that Margaret was a very special woman and a wonderful mother. She has left behind a legacy of accomplished, responsible, good citizens. Amy is so generous of her time and is so pure in spirit. I imagine that she inherited this from her mother. And she has always spoken so highly of her siblings and her father. I understand that Margaret was a woman who loved her children and her husband and considered that caring for her family was her primary purpose. And so her life was truly a successful one. I join in celebrating her life and I acknowledge your good fortune in having such a wonderful mother. I also offer my condolences to those who will surely miss her.

Sincerely,
Krsana

Dear Amy and Troy and the Kates Family,
Although I only met your mother once, years ago at your Princess House Party on Raven Avenue, I really believe that your Mom's warmth and love will always be with you, surrounding you with infinite caring, even as she has passed from us.
On that occasion I made a tomato soup cake, doubling the recipe, and praying that it would bake up OK!! That cream cheese frosting really made it, I believe, and everyone raved about it!!
She is up there now with your brothers, my Dad and all others who have gone before us, sharing with them and with us the hope of our lives for the future and for the beautiful life that awaits all of us, when we join her.
Love, Sally

To Bill & all of the "Kates Family"-
I just heard of Marge's passing and I am so very sorry for your loss. Funny, but all I could think of was how lucky my Mom, Doris, was to finally have her near!! Sounds strange, but I just know that they're having a grand time up there talking, laughing and having their "cups of tea". Makes me smile. God bless you, Bill. Someone reminded me, when Mom died, that even as we were saying,.. "Oh no, she's leaving.." others up there were saying, "Look! Here she comes!!".
Love to you all,
Michelle(Shellie LeBlanc) Steiner

Amy and family,
I remember meeting your Mom at your wedding. She was dignified,lovely,and so proud of her family. She is with you and smiling over you and you will feel her presence in the beauty of nature and the things she enjoyed. You say good bye today to her earthly temple but she is so much more than her body now. May you find great peace in your compassion and love you gave her throughout her life and in her final days.
Love,
Anne Marie Murphy

Mr kates, Jerry,Amy,Jan and all the Kates I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom is such a huge memory of our childhood. We were all so lucky to have the great memories we all share. The "Bruce Road" reunion was a testament to that and I am sure you are so pleased Mom got to share it with all of us. The pictures and the memories are fabulous. As I am sure you understand I am very aware that we are never old enough to loose our Mom's. My thoughts and prayer are with all of you.. Joanne (Gibbons) Uvanitte.

Some of my fondest memories over the years with my mother-in-law, Mrs. Kates:

Dinners at the table with all the siblings and grandkids;
Talking about dancing, singing, and theater while the guys talked about golf;
Watching her make sandcastles with our boys in Maine;
Talking about all the various activities that the grandkids were involved with;
Admiring her many, many quilts which were made for her fortunate grandkids;
Showing us repeatedly how to make her scrumptious “green” Jell-O cake;
Visiting Grandma and Grandpa in Florida with Matt and Stephen;
Sharing her love of all things to do with her grandchildren!

I feel extremely blessed to have had her in my life for the past 30 years. I will miss you, Mrs. K.

Love always, Carrie

To the entire Kates family
"Ma Kates", as we HC boys knew her, was an institution during our years at the Cross. With fondest memories of parents weekend, trips to Norwood and some great banter/discussion as her Irish roots let her do so well. We are all "the better" for having known her, and she lives on in our lives through all of you.
With sympathy and love

Dear Bill and family,

We are so very sorry for your loss. Margaret was such a great friend to Peg and whenever I arrived to the Pines there was always a fresh, delicious, homemade cake waiting. I can see Peg and Margaret sitting by the pool just visiting. Such fond memories. Know, we are thinking of you and remembering Margaret with love and kindness. She was a beautiful, kind woman and I feel blessed to have known her.

Fondly, Joann, Russ, Dan and Peg Rogers
