Margaret E. Kronebusch, 101 of Kellogg, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Saint Elizabeth Care Center, Wabasha.
Margaret Elizabeth Giem was born on Oct. 1, 1916, in Trout Valley, Minneiska Township, Wabasha County to Peter Giem and Elizabeth (Leisen) Giem. She married Alphonse John Kronebusch on May 10, 1939. They farmed on Oak Ridge, Whitewater Township, Winona County through 1947, when the State of Minnesota purchased the farm. They then moved to Highland Township, Wabasha County, and farmed until 1962, when they moved to Plainview. They later retired to Elba. Alphonse died in 1987 and Margaret then moved to Kellogg.
Of this marriage eight children were born. Surviving are Jeanette Dynes, Lawrence (Shirley), Kathleen (Dennis) Speltz, Patricia (Wayne) Zabel, Clifford (Debra) and Marcella (Ed) Schneider, and daughter-in-law, Laurie Kronebusch. She is further survived by a sister, Josephine Konkel, as well as 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Joe, Lawrence and Leo; sisters, Beatrice Lindmark and Mary Passe; a daughter, Victoria; a son, Alphonse W.; and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg, with the Rev. Gregory Parrott officiating. Interment will be in Saint Agnes Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons.
Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday one hour before the Mass. The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha is in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
