Margaret Larson, a beloved, respected teacher at Bransford Elementary School in Fairfield, passed away peacefully March 19, 2006. She would have celebrated her 53rd birthday May 18, 2006.
Raised in North Dakota, she loved quiet, peaceful surroundings, rolling grassy hills and beautiful lakes.
Margie graduated from high school in Minot, N.D., and then earned her bachelor of arts degree at the University of North Dakota. After graduation, she ventured to Napa to be with her sister, Julie. Margie worked for the Napa School District while going to Sonoma State College to get her teaching credential in special education. Upon completion, she got a job as a resource specialist with the Fairfield-Suisun School District. She had taught almost 20 years in Fairfield, first at Amy Blanc, then at Bransford. She knew, befriended and cared for many people, especially her students.
She loved to travel and had many memorable vacations with her sister Julie to Hawaii, Washington, D.C., and back to Minot, N.D. Her love of reading took her to many other places through her books.
Margie is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Julie and Robert Lye of Napa and Susan Larson; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Darlene Larson of New London, Minn.; her adored niece, Tiffany Larson Smith of Brier, Wash.; nephew, John Larson of Arlington, Va.; and her special friends, Suzanne and David Rogers of Fairfield and Nick Shevchenko of Shoreline, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Evelyn Larson.
A celebration of her life and teaching career will take place in the next few weeks in Fairfield.

I was privileged to team teach with Margie for two years. No one had a bigger heart for the children or others than she. Her passing leaves a big void in all of our lives.

Margie taught my son, I believe she really injoyed her work and was a big help to my son's education, my son would always help her with her wheel chair

I was so saddened to hear of Margie's passing. My heart goes out to the entire family. Margie and I worked together for many years in the school district. She was a true advocate for special needs students and stood up for what she believed in. She will be missed by all who knew her.
