Joan always welcomed me along with Keith and all the family whenever I visited Sacramento. I made several journeys to Las Pesas Way back in the 1970s when I played Soccer there and later with my family on holidays.
Joan was a kind and caring person and always helped me along the way. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

I fondly remember Joan & Keith's visit to Canada ( with brother Tom Towers from Preston) back in the 80s. They came to visit with my Dad, William ( their cousin) . I've enjoyed keeping in touch with Joan through cards and letters over the years. I'm deeply grateful for her remarkable life and legacy. Sending lots of love and deepest sympathies to cousins Barbara, Margaret, Richard and their families.

Auntie Joan (Margaret) was so brave going off to California with new husband Keith - so very far away in those days from her UK family, Only to do a return visit 16 years later to see her mother & other family, with our cousins Margaret, Barbara & Richard. Many happy memories of that trip to England and our trip to California in 1984. Our mother Marie who was Joan's best friend/sister-in-law would regularly write the letters to Joan on behalf of Joan's mother. It has been a great comfort to us in England that Joan was with us for so long & that special contact to our dad. Amazing. Rest in Peace Joan. CHRISTINE, NEIL & FAMILY XXXX
