Margaret Maher

MAHER, Margaret Elizabeth 1920 - 2008 Margaret died on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Southgate. She was born on May 22, 1920 in Newcastle (Miramichi), New Brunswick. Her parents, Berta and Charles Lund, emigrated from Sweden in 1909 and had five children. Margaret is predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Gertrude in 1996, Margeta and Maria who died as infants; brother, John in 1915; her husband, Andrew Lyons in 1966, and her husband, Frank Maher in 2004. Margaret is survived by her daughter Patricia and her husband Reverend Carl Bergstrom; step-daughter, Sister Paula Maher, CND, of Guatemala; step-sons, Jamie Maher (Linda) of Miramichi, New Brunswick and Francis Maher (Betty) of Miramichi, New Brunswick; granddaughters, Sheri Heskins (Michael) of Edmonton, Sandie Manson (Donald) of Calgary, Kristina Humphreys (David) of Germany, Fay Frenette (Gishlain) of Bathurst, New Brunswick; great-grandchildren, Matthew Heskins (Karen) of Edmonton, Stephen Heskins (Melissa) of Sherwood Park, Daniel Manson (Juli) of Lethbridge, Joseph Manson of Calgary, Jonathan Frenette of Bathurst, New Brunswick, and Lauren Humphreys of Germany; great-great-grandchildren, Savannah and Meadow Heskins; also relatives in New Brunswick, Washington, Ontario, California, New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. We wish to thank the staff and residents of Riverbend Retirement Residence and with great love the staff of Good Samaritan Southgate Long Term Care for their kindness, prayers, and exceptional care. We would like to give special thanks to Flo Reducka, Jo Masterson, Jan Matheson, Joy Vanherwaard, and Patsy Williams-Lewis for their love, support, and prayers; and to Dr. Douglas Strilchuk for always "being there" for us with compassion and wisdom. Margaret will be remembered by her family with pride, love, and gratitude always. Margaret will be remembered at a private Celebration of Life at Good Samaritan Southgate Chapel. In memory of Margaret, we ask that you say a prayer and give a flower to someone who needs to be remembered. Cremation has taken place.
