Margaret Virginia "Aunt Bob" Neeley, 96, of Littleton, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012, at her home in Littleton.

She was born Sunday, May 28, 1916, in Brooklyn, Ill. She was the daughter of the late William T. and Nola B. Lantz Lewis. She married John T. Neeley on June 2, 1950, in Peoria. He passed away Sept. 2, 2000.

She is survived by one brother, William Lewis of Springfield; along with nieces and nephews, Marion F. (Lewis) Lukasik, Mary Patricia (Weinberg) Pinkham, William W. Weinberg, Bette (Weinberg) Huff, Diane (Lewis) Rebman, Suzanne Lewis and LuAnne (Lewis) Miller; and her special friend, Roscoe, the neighbor's dog. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Weinberg; one brother, Thomas Lewis; and two nephews, T. Scott Lewis and John T. Lewis.

She graduated from Brooklyn and Augusta High Schools. She received a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois Teacher's College. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and received a master's degree from the University of Colorado. Margaret taught Physical Education and English for a total of 35 years in Farmington High School, Vermont High School and Industry High School. Her greatest joy was working alongside her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Littleton United Methodist Church and the Schuyler Republican Women's Club. She was also a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Rushville Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Worthington Funeral Home, with Mr. David Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Littleton Cemetery. There will be calling hours from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family will meet with friends from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the Littleton United Methodist Church or the Littleton Cemetery Association. Private condolences and expressions of sympathy may be left at www.worthingtonfh.com.
