My condolences to both George and Nancy, but happy to be numbered among those who knew Marge, and knew her wonderful spirit! We first met as novice "Soccer Moms", and later taught with Oxford Schools. You will be missed, dear lady!

Marge and I worked on our Masters Degrees together at OU in the 80´s and have been close friends ever since. As a fellow music teacher, she inspired me so often and we cried on each other´s shoulders many a time. How I shall miss her smile, our lunches, and the sparkle she added to any meeting!

Mrs. Payne, your life was unbelievable and you have imprinted your love onto countless others. When I was a young boy, I came to know your mother well and she helped me through the hardest time of my life. When I moved to Oxford and joined your middle school choir, I was amazed to see your mother in the audience at our first concert. It was there that my love for you started. You have helped form me into the man I am today and I was lucky enough to call you teacher, mentor, and friend later on in life, and I am blessed to now teach my oldest son many of the things you taught me as he begins his journey into vocal music, a love that has grown in him from a very young age, stemming from my love of vocal music which was planted in me by you all those years ago. You will be missed and you will not be forgotten. Thank you for your love, wisdom and kindness that you have shared with all those who had the privilege of knowing you.

Marge, may you always find a lay-down 8 hand in Euchre and a double run in Pinochle. We´ll always remember all the many, many card games we played together. The Bay will never be the same without you.
