Proud Mother and Grandmother
With sadness, love, and profound gratitude for every memory and every moment, the family of Margaret "Peg" Perreault announces her passing on March 8, 2026. Wife of Roger Perreault and daughter of Eva and Steve Klimkosky of Terryville, she was born April 28, 1940. Upon high school graduation in 1958, she attended Central Connecticut State College and graduated in 1962. After graduating, she taught for three years in her hometown of Terryville. Being an adventurous person, Peg left the States and taught for three years overseas in Germany, Turkey, and the Philippines. Upon her return, she married her long-time sweetheart, Roger, in 1969.
Peg didn't stop at being a teacher and returned to college and received her Master's Degree as a Reading Consultant, and later her administrator degree at St. Joseph's College, all while attentively nurturing her family and working for the City of Waterbury. She was a Reading Supervisor, Vice Principal, and then a Principal at Regan School in Waterbury, where she ended her career after teaching for 41 total years.
She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-six years, two children, Terry Roth-Perreault of
Terryville, CT and Jay Perreault and his wife Karen Font of
Port Saint Lucie, FL, and her two grandchildren, Fallon and Aria Roth-Perreault of Terryville.
Anyone who ever met Peg felt how special she was; she will be missed by all who ever knew her, even in the briefest interaction. She had the biggest heart, unstoppable energy, and the strongest faith that permeated everything that she did, from fundraising for her church to calling people who lost loved ones long after everyone else had forgotten. Peg was an extremely active member of St. Thomas (St. Maximilian Kolbe) Parish. She served many, many years as CCD teacher, Eucharistic minister, unofficial welcomer, and faithful and selfless parishioner. She was deeply involved with her small Christian community groups and remained committed to them even after moving to Florida.
Peg and Roger lived in Thomaston their entire married lives until last year when they moved to Port Saint Lucie and spent time with her son and daughter-in-law, gathering sunshine while "not missing the cold at all". In that short time, she not surprisingly became an integral part of her new community, attending as many activities as possible and becoming the unofficial ambassador to their assisted living home. In true Peg nature, even when walking became a big challenge, she continued to help others; she scootered around and visited people who were bed-bound, invited lonely widows to join them to dinner, and every night she said good night to her new friend and neighbor.
Her love of her beloved grandchildren may have been the only thing that exceeded her quiet service to others. Fallon and Aria were truly the pride and joy of her life. From their earliest days through their high school years, she spent countless hours with them and was present for every milestone. Just like she was at Terry and Jay's team sports and recitals, "Nonnee" was a fixture at their cross-country and track meets and volleyball games, and would proudly tell anyone who would listen about their latest activities and accomplishments.
Peg will be missed dearly, but she would not want her friends and family to grieve for long. Instead, she would want them to find comfort in knowing she is safely home.
A mass celebrating her life will be held at 10 AM on April 18, 2026, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. There are no calling hours, and burial will be private.
Donations can be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe Church and in lieu of flowers, Peg would ask that you do something kind for someone in need; a quiet act in her humble tribute and continued memory.
