I met Margie & John at an opera discussion class and a bird watching class in Tucson AZ. They became good friends as we shared meals together, many good conversations, as well as attending the Tucson Symphony opera together as couples. Of course that was after eating at a local Mexican restaurant. Joe and I cherished our times together and are so sorry to learn of Margie´s passing. She was a truly special woman.

I was lucky enough to be paired with Margie in the roommate draw our freshman year at Smith College. We bonded immediately, shared opinions and kept each other's confidences during her two years in Northampton. Over the following decades, although we lived in different parts of the country, our friendship strengthened and deepened as we stayed in touch often via phone calls and snail mail. George and I had wonderful visits with John and Margie in San Francisco, Tucson and Santa Fe. I loved Margie's strength of character, her loyalty to those she loved and her wicked sense of humor. She remains my best friend ever and I miss her dearly.

Margie was a pleasure to know, a natural leader, and a wonderful friend. I was a bridesmaid in her first wedding because Julie Whitcomb couldn't be, and I remember feeling a little sad in spite of the happy occasion because it meant that she wouldn't be returning to Smith for our Jr. and Sr. years.
We did meet up once more...in Paris during the years when E, Sargie and Ariane all lived there, but even now many decades later I still remember our dear Margie with pleasure and admiration.

Treasured friend, confidant, neighbor and beacon of strength and rational thought. We have so many wonderful memories of times together and long talks about everything under the sun and especially her love of her children, grandchildren and John.
A bright light has gone out but we are richer for her presence and the time that we shared. We miss her so!

A treasured friend from childhood through life. We had happy meetings in San Francisco and Tucson. I was hoping for more.
Our love to John and all the family.

The most honest, loving friend anyone could ask for. She will always be in my heart.

Margie was kind and thoughtful to us, her cousins. She was tall in spirit and stature. We all looked up to her. She had a grace and charisma that was simply stunning. We were all blessed.
