Margaret W. Lucacio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 13, 2023.
Margaret W. Lucacio (nee Whitman) passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of November 11, 2023 at the age of 95. She will be deeply missed by her relatives and friends.

Margaret resided almost her entire life in Medford at her family residence on Whitman Road, with her late parents Fred and Viola Whitman as well as her beloved late husband Joseph Lucacio.

An avid reader, Margaret was known to read multiple books at a time and enjoyed needle point projects until arthritis forced her to discontinue this cherished hobby. Her lifelong love of nature and animals never faltered, and was fostered by her mother, Viola Whitman, from a very young age. During her lifetime Margaret was an active donor to many wildlife, humane, and rescue charities such as the MSPCA, the Animal League of Boston, World Wildlife Fund, and the Best Friends Animal Society as well as an attentive carer for the animals and birds that lived on her property. Because of her deep love and commitment to animal charities, the family requests that donations to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler Street, Boston MA 02116 be made in lieu of flowers and this would please Margaret the most, knowing that the care and love of animals that she held near to her heart continues on after she has left us.

A Visitation will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, at 5 Chestnut St, Arlington MA on Friday November 17, 2023 from 11:30am to 12:30pm. This will be followed by a funeral service within the funeral home. Services will conclude with a burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford Ma.
