Margery Doyle McMahon, 86, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Joseph C. McMahon, died peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her six children. Born in Hartford to the late Joseph and Julia (Buggie) Doyle, she lived most of her life in Windsor and was a past member of St. Gabriel Church in Windsor and a current member of St. Patrick St. Anthony Church in Hartford. Margery served as the school lunch director in Windsor Locks and Farmington for many years. She was an avid Red Sox, UCONN and Patriots fan who enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family. Widowed at the age of 49, she singlehandedly raised her six children, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Maura Grusse and her husband Gregory of Glastonbury, Martin “Marty” McMahon and his wife Liza of Simsbury, Marcia Chambers and her husband Bill of South Windsor, Brenda Foti and her husband James of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Patrick McMahon of Windsor, and Denise Nikolis and her husband Christos of Suffield; her grandchildren, Denis, Rachel, Mary Kate, Emily, Bobby, Margaret, Brian, Matt, Nico, Julie, Ariana, Maggie and James; and her dear friends, Maureen Hallisey, Eileen Russo, Sheila Dumeer, Patricia Melley and Anita Stack. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother William J. Doyle. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM Thursday, March 15 at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St. Hartford, followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 14 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104 or the ASRC, 101 N Plains Industrial Rd, Wallingford, CT 06492.

To Patrick and all of the McMahon family members, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Though I never had the chance to meet her, she sounds like a truly amazing woman. She certainly has left a beautiful legacy through all of her children. Sending prayers and thoughts to all of you.
