Margie Crain

Margie M. Crain, 94, of Columbia, Ill., formerly of Millstadt, Ill., born April 22, 1923 in St. Genevieve, Mo., died Tues., Sept. 26, 2017 in Columbia, Ill.

Margie was a factory worker at Switzer's and a cook at Pope's Cafeteria in St. Louis, a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill. and an avid bingo player and good prayer warrior.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Francis and Frances Robison; her husband, James Edward Crain, whom she married on Aug. 17, 1944 and died in 1980; her children, Robert William Crain, Raymond Crain and Patricia Kay Crain; her son-in-law, Harry Whelan; seven brothers; her brother-in-law, Marvin Hardin; and her great-grandson, Michael Pratt.

Surviving are her children, Betty (Homer) Duncan, Linda Whelan, both of Millstadt, Ill. and P. Crain of Highland, Ill.; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Crain of Marshville, MO.; her sister, Louise Hardin of Patoka, Ill.; her brother, Earl Robison of O'Fallon, Ill.; her grandchildren, Patricia Pratt of Millstadt, Ill., Valerie Crain of Godfrey, Ill., Anthony (Nicole) Duncan of Baldwin, Ill., Raymond Crain Jr., of Godfrey, Ill., Edward (Tiffany) Crain, Rhonda Crain, Jason Crain of Collinsville, Ill. and Tia Crain; her great-grandchildren, Jace (Cassie) Duncan with the USMC in N.C., Aspen Duncan of Red Bud, Ill., Tyler Crain, Preston Crain, Mason Crain, Morgan Elizabeth Crain, Addison Crain and Thomas Michael Crain of Red Bud, Ill.; her special friends, Rich Menke and Sandy Menke; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

A special thanks to Rich Menke and Sandy Menke for all their help, support, care of our mother; as well to the Visiting Angels and the staff and nurses of Columbia Rehab for their wonderful care.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 1, 2017 and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Mon., Oct. 2, 2017 at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Mon., Oct. 2, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill., with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, Ill.
