GRANITE FALLS - Margie Bumgarner Robinson, 76, of Hudson, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. She was born April 13, 1932, in Caldwell County to the late Paul and Evelyn Cook Bumgarner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Bumgarner, and a great-niece. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Robinson of the home; one brother, Hugh Bumgarner and wife, Barbara, of Hudson; one sister, Joyce Gabriel and husband, Kenneth, of Sherrills Ford; one niece; three nephews; three great-nephews; one great-niece; one aunt; a special aunt, Thelma Cook; and a sister-in-law, Mary Bumgarner. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Bass-Smith Granite chapel, with the Rev. James McKenny officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m., prior to the service today, at Bass-Smith Granite Funeral Service.
