Margot "Ticky" Price, 71, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, July 1, 2007, at her home.
Born January 15, 1936, in Centerville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Russell D. and Margaret Finigen Buss and her stepmother Muriel Buss. On August 20, 1955, she married C. Jerry Price in Omaha, Nebraska.
Margot was a 1954 graduate of Centerville High School and a 1956 graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College with a degree in Secretarial Science.
Margot was a homemaker.
Margot was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter NI, Girl Scouts, B.H.S. Booster Club, Bridge tailgater's marathon and many other bridge clubs. She helped the church's youth group by cooking the Wednesday night meals. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. She enjoyed knitting, flower gardening, quilting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; five sons, Bill (Joanie) Price, of Burlington, Russ (Lisa) Price and Andy (Alyssa) Price, both of Muscatine, Jobe (Jennifer) Price, of Coralville, and Jeremy (Erika) Price, of Burlington; three daughters, Jo (Thomas) Clayton and Liz (Tony) Rich, both of Burlington, and Ann (Steve) Ralfs, of Durant; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Suzanne Swan, of Norfolk, Va.; one aunt, Irene Fisher, of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
As per her request, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. There will be no visitation.
The memorial service for Mrs. Price will be 11:30 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Bill Salzmann and Bill Price officiating. There will be a time of food and fellowship in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
The Hass-Thielen Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
