Margret Mason Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 24, 2023.
Oxford, Maine. Margret Mason of Oxford, passed away on Sunday, September 18 2022, at Hospice House in Auburn, Maine with her grandson Hunter by her side. She was the daughter of Richard L. Chute and Shirley May Lucas Chute. She was raised by her Aunt Helen L. Chute.

Margret graduated from Monmouth High School, class of 61'. She was married to Richard E. Mason of Green, Maine on February 13, 1963. They raised 2 children, Rose Marie Mason-Walker and Alfred C. Mason.

She worked in the mills for a prolonged period of her life but decided it was best for her family if she changed her career path. She attended Midstate College as Medical Secretary, 20 years after she graduated from High School. She was incredibly proud of herself for achieving that. She then spent the rest of her career in human resources at CMMC and Stephans Memorial.

She enjoyed working on crafts and writing her book, A Memory At Large, and making beautiful quilts filled with love for her friends and family. She loved spending time with her friends and her grandson Hunter.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard E. Mason, her grandson Alfred Mason and her boyfriend Raymond Walker. She survived by her Daughter Rose M. Mason-Walker of Green, son Alfred C. Mason and Daughter-In-Law Dorothy T. Mason, and their son Hunter Mason of Lisbon Maine, and grandchildren from another marriage.

Her Family would like to give the utmost gratitude to the staff of Hospice House for taking such great care of our mother. They are such good people.
