Marguerite LeBlanc Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 15, 2016.
Marguerite G. (Bourque) LeBlanc, age 94, of Lynn, died peacefully at Abbott House Nursing Home on August 15, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Owen J. LeBlanc, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage.
Born and educated in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Marguerite was the daughter of the late Aurèle and Anna (LeBlanc) Bourque. She was the loving and devoted mother of Paul LeBlanc of Lynn, Janice MacDonald and her husband, Brian of Lynn, and Joanne Bingham and her late husband, Ronald, of Wyoming; the cherished grandmother of Meaghan MacDonald of St. Louis, Missouri, and Evan MacDonald of Lakewood, Ohio; the dear sister of the late Claude, Gérard, Roger and Violette Bourque and the late Rita Surette, Maria Melanson, and Carmela Fenety; and the aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Primarily a homemaker, Marguerite worked for several years at Wood Electric in Lynn until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, square dancing and wintering in Florida for many years. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her circle of lifelong friends affectionately referred to as "the gang." She and her late husband Owen, moved to St. Theresa House in Lynn in 2008 where she enjoyed the support and company of friends, staff, and the St. Mary's parish community. Marguerite moved to Abbott House in 2015 where warm and compassionate staff cared for her to the end. There, Marguerite maintained her strong devotion to her Catholic faith, drawing comfort and strength by attending weekly Mass at Holy Family Church until her death.
Marguerite's funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday, August 22nd, at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment in St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn, will be private at a later date. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 21st, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one's choice.

Dear Janice, Paul and Joanne, Trish and I want to offer our deepest sympathies to you on the loss of your mom. We also just learned about the passing of your father. We so enjoyed your parents. They were always joking and laughing. Your dad had that wonderful impish grin. The photo gallery is amazing. The pictures of your parents when they were young are so adorable. It's great to see the pictures of Tante Let, the Richards and Mrs. DesPres. They remind us of how wonderful our neighborhood was growing up. It doesn't seem the same without half of it being French Canadian. Our hearts go out to you and your families. Please let us know if there's anything we can do. Love, Jean Hart and Patricia Tierney

Dear Joanne & family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Seeing the gallery of photos brought up memories of being at your house and loving to hear you and your mom converse in French. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family"

Joanne, Paul and Janice,
My family sends their condolences. We were neighbors of your parents (they were on French St. and We were on Chestnut St) for a very long time until they moved. Our yards without the fence would have been a huge yard. They were the best neighbors anyone could ask for.

Our deepest sympathies,
Bill, Ellen Veiga and Family

Dear Joanne, Paul and Janice,
Truly an era has come to an end with the passing your lovely mom, Marguerite. The numerous visits to Lynn and vice versa to Fitchburg will always be a treasure, as our visits with your parents and you were always filled with warmth and joy. All of us agree, I know, that the friendship we observed in our parents modeled how relationships should be - filled with loyalty and respect. May God's peace be with you during this time of temporary farewell to your beloved mom.

With love,

Eileen van Herp
