FIGLIUZZI, Maria Saverina (nee Basile) Passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by her loving family, on October 3, 2005 after an unbelievably courageous battle with cancer at 78 years of age. Beloved and devoted wife of 54 years to Bonaventura Figliuzzi. She will be overwhelmingly missed by her daughters Clorinda "Linda" and husband Giovanni Durante, Vittoria "Vicki" and husband Dr. Richard Ward of Windsor, and Teresa and husband Luigi Cutraro of Rochester Hills, Mich. In her final days, her only reason for living was to see her grandchildren. Nonna to Mario, Luca and Julian Cutraro of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Elisa Qian Ward of Windsor. Waiting in heaven for Nonna will be infant Marc Ward (1996). Predeceased by her beloved parents Domenico and Rosa Basile. Predeceased by her dear sister Giuseppina (1996) and husband Nicola Ferrarelli (2002), her brother Pasquale (1995) and her sister Teresa Basile (1954), all of Windsor. Survived by her brother Saverio and wife Marisa Basile of Dearborn, Mich, and by her sister-in-law Teresa Basile. Predeceased by Drusiana and Nazareno Figliuzzi and Giuseppe and Marianna Forgione, Domenico Figliuzzi, Caterina and Gianni Timpano, all of Italy. Survived by her sister in-laws Flora and husband Luzzo Zaffino and Teresa Figliuzzi, all of Italy. Survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews in Italy, U.S. and in Canada. Saverina's memory will be filled with love and kindness, by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family extends gratitude for their compassion, care and acts of kindness to all the relatives, friends and neighbours and to a list of professionals and agencies: Dr. D. Sicheri and Karla, Dr. Alam from the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Dr. C. Jones, Dr. D. Cargill and Heather McKenzie from Hospice of Windsor for all their care and support. A very special thank you to Cynthia Wright, nurses Alicja Szewczyk, Lourdes Ramirez,Wendy Jewell and Josie Ennis from Comcare for their tender loving care they gave to our mother. Thanks to case worker Beth Reid, Bonnie Darbyson, Physiotherapist and Jodie Fischer, Occup. Therapist. A very special and heartfelt thanks to Frank Cappellino, pharmacist and his team from Shopper's (West End) who were never too busy to answer our questions. If you so desire, donations to the Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Wednesday 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Prayers Wednesday 3:00pm. Funeral Thursday 9:15am from Families First Funeral Home and Tribute Centre, (969-5841), 3260 Dougall Ave. to Holy Name of Mary Church (681 McEwan Ave.) for Mass at 10:00am.
