Maria Egudelia Lopez, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025, at her home in The Bronx, New York.

Maria was born on November 6, 1930, in Isabella, Puerto Rico, to Felicita Roldan and Francisco Valle. She spent her early years in Puerto Rico before moving to The Bronx, where she lived for over 70 years.

Maria's life was centered around her family, and her greatest joy came from caring for them. Renowned for her exceptional cooking, she created countless cherished meals that will forever be remembered by those who shared them. Maria played a vital role in raising generations of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her sense of humor, loving nature, and compassionate spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Maria was predeceased by her parents; her siblings; her beloved husband, Alain A. Lopez, Sr.; and her son, Alain A. Lopez, Jr. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Glenda (Junior); her daughter Mildred Solis (Mike); her sons Juan Lopez (Iris), Wilfredo Lopez, and Frank Lopez; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home, 2121 Westchester Ave., Bronx, NY. Burial will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

Maria's legacy of love and devotion will live on through the many lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
