Maria Consuelo "Connie" Luera passed away January 16, 2017 at the age of 73. She was born in Alice, Texas to Ernesto and Petra Salinas. Maria was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Petra Salinas; son, Jacob Luera; numerous siblings. Maria is survived by her husband, Israel Luera, Sr.; sons, Israel (Dawn) Luera, Jr., Carlos (Kristy) Luera; daughter-in-law, Audrey Luera; grandchildren, Lorena Luera, Anthony Luera, Izabella Luera, Jonathan Luera, Israel Luera, III, Dominic Luera, and Adelina Luera; two sisters and three brothers; numerous nephews and nieces. The family will be receiving friends and family from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place at 9am on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.trevinofuneralhome.net.
