Dear Marian, who was my mother’s dearest friend, and such a part of our lives during the “Queen of Angel” years. I remember her always impeccable home, her dry wit, her fondness for a cocktail with my mom... who knows what the ladies were confiding to one another?! Marian was greatly loved, by her amazing children, who cared for her so beautifully till the end of her days. The Davies’ home on Narcissus in CdM was always a haven to me during childhood, when Kathy and I would play endlessly until dinner in the den with TV trays that Mrs. Davies always had handy. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since her Passing. But I’m sure she and Dola are up there in heaven playing a good game of bridge and chuckling over some secret joke they no doubt took with them to the grave. And so it is with best friends. Pure love

Marion, always 'Mrs. Davies' to me when we were growing up, was like a second mother to me. Kathy, her daughter and I, would spend hours upon hours down at the seaside in the hidden caves and coves of Corona del Mar off their home on Narcissus. Marion was the neatest housekeeper and an amazing homemaker, always having treats for us kids and a warm atmosphere at home. She and my mother were best friends and fellow bridge players, sharing as many secrets and tales as Kathy and I used to. Their friendship endured for over 40 years; a memorial to women of that era who had desires and dreams beyond their husband's careers. May you rest in peace, Marion. And thank you for the hours and years of letting us be kids, in peace. You were a terrific Mother, even as my "second Mom". Barbara
