Marian was a special person to so many! We spent happy times wth her and with Ros during our years in Albuquerque, talking about miniatures and Horace, with whom my uncle, Tom Cramer, was associated in the "Potash Days." We spoke a bit about the Cosmos Club and Horace, too. (Horace forwarded my nomination to the Cosmos, a fact of which I'm very proud.)
Marion wrote great Christmas notes!

I have great memory of Ros and Marion visiting while I was Supt.of Glacier National Park and thereafter exchanged Christmas cards for many years and shared stories of her folks. I carried on correspondence with Horace for many years( since donated to Yellowstone archives) My admiration for the Albright family is great and I was priviledged to know them. especially remembering Horace's last visit to Yellowstone when I was Assist. Supt there.

Sorry to all the close friends and family. What an iconic life Marian lived! An "America's Best Idea" family legacy indeed. I studied her father's career during my college years and now I am a 26 year career member of the National Park Service. The Albright's are adored by our organization, I think many of us were lured into this career by his vision, leadership and romantic era . The world is blessed by Marian's passion to further study and share this family legacy during her career. What a diverse dream life she lived!

I was sorry to hear the news of Mrs. Schenck's passing. She is someone that I would have of enjoyed meeting.

My thoughts are with your family.

My heartfelt prayers are sent to each of you during your time of sorrow. As a 28 year veteran of NPS which included a 3 year stint at Albright Training Center, I'm grateful for the contribution Marian and her father gave to conservation and preservation. I only wish I'd known Marian was in Red Bluff, I would have loved to have the honor of meeting her. Take care, Janet Rogers, Chief of Administration, Lassen Volcanic National Park.

I had the honor of meeting Mrs. Schenck and her husband when she visited Natural Bridges NM where I was a park ranger in 1985. I enjoyed talking to her so much about her early experiences in the national parks. She remarked that it was like to "old park service" to have a ranger take the time to be interested in a visitor and so eager to share knowledge of a special place. I will always remember that as the highest compliment I have ever received and more important because it came from Horace Albright's daughter, a link to the history of the National Park Service.
