MARIANNE DONOVAN OF DENVER Marianne (Hanlon) Donovan, wife of Paul, died at home on June 16, 2014 after courageously battling breast cancer. Marianne resided in Denver, PA. Marianne was born in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia on February 29, 1936 to Joseph and Mary (Leahy) Hanlon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joseph. A 1954 graduate of St. John the Baptist High School for Girls in Manayunk, Marianne also resided in Norristown, Pottstown, Elverson, and Lewes, DE. She was an active member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Church in Shillington, PA and the Prime Timers group at the church. Marianne loved cooking, traveling, and was also a well-known shop-a-holic. Many retail stores in the area will miss her as much as her loved ones will! She was also a grandmother extraordinaire, lover of beauty products, a prolific web researcher, and more than anything loved a good laugh. In addition to her husband of 56 years, Marianne is survived by her five children: Rosemary (David) Schaffer of Birdsboro; Marita (Scott) Burk of Reading; Paul (Dorothy) of Ewing, NJ; Megan (David) Magill of Conshohocken; and Elizabeth (Adam) Conish of Phoenixville; grandchildren: Jessica, Emily, Grace, Molly, Sophia, Lucy, and Brendan; and great-grandchildren: Ava and Jaycob. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, 420 Holland St., Shillington, PA 19607. Friends and family may call prior to Mass from 9:30 to 11a.m. in the church. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marianne's memory to either St. John Baptist de la Salle Church at the above address or Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125, or online at www.hospiceandcommunitycare.org. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Marianne was a good friend and neighbor. She was kind and thoughtful to everyone she met. Whether we took the kids fishing at French Creek State Park or in our back yard we had a good time. She will be missed by so many. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Bill and Elaine Mellon

Marianne was a classmate for 12 years at St. John the Baptist. I have many fond memories of Marianne – going to her birthday parties (the Leap Year's one were special). We tap danced in the St. John's minstrels, were in the Senior Play together, rode in her car when she got here license (I think in senior year). Mariane was fun to be with. I can never remember her being unkind to anyone. I will remember her with great fondness.

I was so sad to hear of Maryanne's death. She was one of my favorite people. We walked to school together for 12 years and I have a lot of memories of a very wonderful person. I will pray for all of you.

My deepest condolences to your family. I will always remember Marianne with deep fondness. She relayed day by day events in a very humorous way. She always made me laugh and look forward to seeing her at family events. She will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very sad time. Your mom always made us laugh with the things she said. I can see her now singing Eastside Westside and doing a soft shoe for Uncle Joe and Walt . Her presents at family gatherings will surly be missed. With Heartfelt Sympathy, Coo and Joe
