Marianne Glass Obituary
Louisville - Marianne Riedling Glass, 88, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 11 at Baptist Health Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lawrence P. "Buddy" Glass. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Kern; nephew Keith Kern (Janis), nieces Lisa Rausch (Jeff), Mary Beth (Troy), and Nancy (Lloyd); several great-nieces; a great-nephew; and a great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Conniff.
Aunt Mari and Uncle Buddy met while working at the Southern Bell Telephone Company and married on December 24, 1949 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. They beat the odds and had 69 wonderful years together. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church for the past several years and dearly loved her church. She retired from Liberty National Bank.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11am, at the funeral home.
Aunt Mari was a second mother to all of us, and was always there for us when we needed her. There isn't a childhood memory that doesn't feature Aunt Mari and Uncle Buddy prominently in it. We were all very blessed to have her in our lives.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Mari's honor, or just simply feed the birds.

I just had a visit with her and Buddy seven days prior and just discovered this on November 23. She was a very pleasant person and a joy to be around. They were just telling me about planning their 70th wedding anniversary. I will pray for you Buddy! God will give you the strength that you do not have on your own!

I was deeply saddened to learn of Marianne's death. Growing up as her backyard neighbor on Pikeview Drive, I regarded her as a very joyful person who always looked on the bright side of things and was a delight to be around. My heart-felt sympathies go out to Buddy and the rest of her friends and family.

So sorry to hear of Marianne's passing. She came to my greenhouse every spring for her fern and other flowers. She was so very kind. I often saw Marianne and Buddy together grocery shopping.
My deepest sympathy to Buddy and all her family.
