Marianne Griebl Obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marianne Griebl on August 16, 2025. Marianne was surrounded by family in Fulshear, Texas, when the Lord called her home. A woman of deep faith, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Marianne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wolfgang Griebl, who passed away on July 21, 2022.

She is survived by her two sons, Oliver and Andrew, and her three beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Karsten, and Sky.

Marianne was born in Deutsch Eylau in 1942 and immigrated to the United States by way of New York. On her birthday, she met Wolfgang on the dance floor of Platzl on East 86th Street in Manhattan-what a gift that day turned out to be. They married and later moved to Boulder, Colorado, in the early 70s, where they raised their family before relocating to Fulshear in 2021 to be closer to loved ones.

She devoted much of her life to serving others, volunteering as a Certified Nurse Aide at Boulder Community Hospital and local schools, and sharing her love of heritage as a German language teacher. Marianne was also an outstanding cook, baker, and gardener, and she delighted in blessing others with those talents. She loved to dance and carried that joy throughout her life, most recently dancing at a local Oktoberfest celebration in 2024.

Her Catholic faith was central to her life, and she was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Boulder before joining St. Faustina Catholic Church in Fulshear, where she found strength, comfort, and community.

Today we take comfort in knowing Marianne is at peace, reunited with Wolfgang, and dancing once again with the love of her life in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held at St. Faustina Catholic Church in Fulshear in the coming weeks and at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Boulder sometime thereafter.
