Marie Bettes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 27, 2024.
Marie (Ciraolo) Bettes, age 81, of East Freetown, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, October 24, 2024 at home.

Marie was born in Quincy, to the late Lena (Nigrelli) and Joseph Ciraolo. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1960, and the former Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing. She lived in East Freetown for seven years, previously in Quincy for most of her life.

She was employed as a registered nurse for over forty years. She worked at various places over the years, including the Emergency Room at the former Quincy City Hospital, the Raytheon Company in Quincy, and several area nursing homes.

Marie enjoyed making trips to and playing the slot machines at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. She was also an avid reader of both novels and tabloids, and she was always up for cruising the yard-sale scene. Marie loved spending time with her granddaughters, and getting together with family and friends for coffee, games and good times. She was known for her wry sense of humor, her strong work ethic, and as someone whom others could always turn to for help. She will be greatly missed.

Beloved wife of the late Vincent M. Bettes, Sr.

Devoted mother of Vincent M. Bettes, Jr. and his wife, Erin, of Lakeville.

Loving grandmother of McGuire L. Bettes and Riley A. Bettes.
