Marie Ruth Clymer, 85, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, formerly of Delaware Park, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004 in Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem, Pa. Born: Feb. 25, 1919 in Easton, Pa, a daughter of the late William E. and Anna Sophia Rush Swope. Personal: Her husband, Clifford D., passed away Jan. 4, 1988. Marie was at one time a dietary consultant at Warren Hospital, she also was an assistant to the late Dr. Edward Rushin in physical therapy. She also assisted in therapy at Warren Hospital. She was one of the first women to be part of the Lopatcong Township Emergency Squad Auxiliary. Marie was a former Girl scout leader. In 1980, she let the Mothers March on birth defects for the Northwest Jersey Chapter of the March of Dimes. She graduated from Easton High School, class of 1935. She loved to sew. She had lived in Lopatcong Township since 1940, she was raised in Martins Creek, Pa by Ava and David Ruple. Later she lived in West Easton and Southside Easton. Memberships: She was a member of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church, Phillipsburg, where she was a former member of the church choir, she was former secretary of the Women's Auxiliary of the Newton Presbytery. Survivors: a daughter, Judith A. Collier and her husband, Dennis of Flicksville, Pa; two grandchildren, Denny Collier and Kristine Collier Flynn; three great grandchildren, Erin, Ava Marie and Lily. A son, Clifford D. Jr., died earlier. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. Call Saturday 1 p.m. to time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NJ. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Holy Family Manor Nursing Home, 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
