Dr. Marie Faraci-Panepinto, 75, of Rostraver Twp., died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born in Monessen on Sept. 16, 1938, the daughter of the late Sundae B. Faraci and Antoinette Iacovangelo Faraci. Dr. Faraci Panepinto was a 1956 graduate of Monessen High School and a 1961 graduate of Penn State University receiving her degree in Pre Med/Medical Technology. She graduated from Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1965 and completed her residency at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh in 1968. Dr. Faraci Panepinto started a private OB/GYN practice first in Monessen and then in Monongahela. Known as Dr. Faraci to her patients, she lived to serve the health needs of women of the Mid-Mon Valley for 44 years, in some cases delivering the babies of multiple generations. She was a member of the staff of the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and then Monongahela Valley Hospital and was actively seeing patients and assisting in surgery until February of this year. She is survived by two sons, Anthony Panepinto of Loveland, Ohio, and John and Amberly Panepinto of Buffalo, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Domenic and Giovanna Panepinto; two brothers, Anthony (Carol) Faraci of Monessen, S. William (Debbie) Faraci of South Fayette Township; a sister, Evette (John) Jaros of Greensburg, and by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore "Sal" F. Panepinto, Esq.; and by a sister Sylvia Lee Banaszak. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, beginning with a 9:30 am blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to Monongahela Valley Hospital, Charles and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Regional Cancer Center, in care of the office of Fund Development, 1163 Country Club Road, Monongahela, PA 15063.
