OBITUARY FOR MARIE D. KOLBE

Marie D. (Ciccone) Kolbe, 96, of Jupiter, FL, and formerly of Warminster, PA, Allentown, PA and Ocean City, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 surrounded by her children.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Fiorello) Ciccone.

Marie was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia. She was an avid reader of history and politics which inspired her to enter the world of local politics herself by running for School Board Director for the Centennial School District in Bucks County, PA, a post she held for twelve years, serving two terms as Board President.

Marie devoted herself to raising her four children and helping to care for her grandchildren. Family was the core of Marie's life, but she also enjoyed discussing politics at the dinner table, going out with friends, dancing, and playing bridge.

Marie is survived by son Steven Kolbe (Lee), daughters Christine Kolbe Karver and Kathy

Kolbe Azeez (Michael), brother Robert Ciccone, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition, Marie is survived by her partner of fifteen years, General James C. Dever, Jr. USAF, (Ret) of Atlantis, FL.

Marie was predeceased by her husband August J. Kolbe, Jr, daughter Carolyn Kolbe, sisters Nancy (Samuel) Cipolloni and Rita (Joseph) Howells, and brother, Joseph (Norma) Ciccone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Marie's funeral mass which will be held at St.

Thomas More Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, PA on Wednesday June 18, 2025 at

10:00 AM. Her ashes will be interred at Seaside Cemetery in Marmora, NJ at a later date.
