In the past, both Marie and Babe became like a part of our family. Babe sold us our first home in Milford. When she became a selectwoman we commiserated often. When she entered the State House we spoke often, many times while she was driving home. She has a place now that is well- deserved for persons of her faith.
Although we have been separated by years since we moved to Shreveport, we kept up on her activities through friends.
God bless her and Babe. The Good Lord has a place for them both.

Joanne and I were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Marie Parente and of her beloved husband, Francis "Babe" Parente a few days after Marie's death. We shared many social events together over the years and enjoyed their company. Marie was a colleague and friend during our shared time in the Massachusetts House and, later, when we both represented Milford - Marie in the House and me in the Senate. She was a loyal friend and supporter even during my final campaign for the Senate. We also shared in sponsoring a number of bills and appropriations to benefit Milford and surrounding towns. Marie was known as a legislator who worked very hard for her constituents and, indeed, the Commonwealth as whole. One of the highest accolades a legislator can earn is that they are known for "doing their homework." Marie certainly did her homework and, as a result was a valued ally and feared opponent. Babe supported Marie all the way. Both lived long fruitful lives and will be sadly missed.

Dear Babe, Angela and Family,
We were so sorry to hear of your loss.
As I grew up and lived next door to Babe's family on Congress St., our friendship goes way back. She was one of a kind and my memories of her will remain the many times we shared some fun.
Rest in Peace Marie....You've done your job here.
Sending our love and sympathy

Marie was a wonderful woman. I remember meeting her when I was a student at Milford HS and she was warm, kind and sympathetic to the needs of the students of my generation. It is difficult to imagine any other person who has done more for Milford and the surrounding area over the past 40 years. she will be missed by many!

To Babe and the entire family, I am so sorry for your loss. When I told a friend at the State House, all she could say was "Ohhhh no !!!!, a legend!" She always made time to answer a question or provide sage advice. She mentored my former boss, Rep. Joyce Spiliotis of Peabody.
My deepest sympathy.
