I have too many memories to write out here. I could talk to grandma about anything. She always listened. I have finally figured out how to make her bread thanks to Debbie's help and her help on Thanksgiving. I know she was there guiding my hands to keep on kneeding it. It came out great. I never woke up in grandmas house without the smell of breakfast cooking. Pannis, eggs, homemade bread and grape jelly.

"Grandma Marie" was my babysitter for several years. I will never forget sliding down the stairs and always getting in trouble, but it was worth it. I remember if we were downstairs and wanted a drink she would get it out of the washing machine ( I thought that was soo cool). I will never forget having tomato soup everyday for lunch and if we were lucky she would send home a loaf of fresh baked bread. Marie, you will never be forgotten.

Marie Parris was certainly an icon... her wit and wisdom were always being quoted to me by my own mother... and I've had the pleasure of knowing dear Gene and many of the Parris children through the years... always an adventurous pleasure, full of laughter and love to encounter a Parris. My prayers are with you all.

To all my cousins "in remembrance of your mother"
"My Mother"
My mother...where did she go?
Everywhere....everywhere.
I know so because...when I hear chimes blow in the wind
I will hear a song...
A special song...
Only I will know. It will be you singing to me
How much comfort that will be
When I lie in the sand
I will let it flow through my hand
I will feel you there. You'll be...
Everywhere
When I lie in the sun and the rays shine on me
I will feel warmth
It will be you...
As I watch the sky of blue
I'll see fluffy clouds
I'll make pictures of them ...
As I always do
They'll disappear as the wind blows
And where they go...Nobody knows
But one will remain in the sky of blue
The one that remains...
Will be you
You'll be a special angel with beautiful wings of white
That softly spread around you
A never ending sight
Your wings trimmed in gold that sparkle and gleam
As they gacefully unfold
You'll be smiling down at me
This cloud will always be...
There
You'll be watching over me
I know this you see
Because the kindness you've given
Will never leave my memory.
The Lord walks with me
His hand lies upon my shoulder
Now both shoulders are covered
Because now the hand that lies on the other...
Is that of...

Marie touched my life more than she realized - I loved her very much and will treasure our memories always. (Not to mention she was the worlds best Grandma for Lisa and Jake!) She will be missed by so many people.
