Marie Broach Raines FLORENCE, S.C. - Marie Broach Raines, 87, of Florence, died Saturday, April 09, 2011 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mrs. Raines was born in Florence, a daughter of the late Henry Isiah Broach and Lee Jeffords Broach Oliver. She was a member of Rumsey Memorial Church and the Ladies Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Richard Raines. Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Raines Smith; her sons, George Bernard Raines and Carols W. Raines and his wife, Susan M. Raines, all of Florence; her daughter-in-law, Marguerite Raines of Columbia; 6 grandchildren; Steven T. Smith and his wife, Aubrey Smith of Murfee, N.C.; Tonya Raines Rayne and her husband Dean Rayne of Ft. Rucker, Al; Danielle Raines, Jeffrey Adam Raines, Kevin Patrick Raines, all of Florence, and Nancy Raines Kunicle of Newberry, S.C.; 3 great-grandchildren; Landon Smith of Murfee, N.C., Brayden Maksin of Florence and Preston Kunicle of Newberry. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 11, 2011 in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
