Marie J. Schultz, age 82, of 110 E. 30th Street, passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab of natural causes. Private family services are being held. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Marie was born on June 16, 1929, in Harpers Ferry, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Mabel (McCormick) O'Brien. Marie was employed at the Dubuque Packing Company for 10 years. She married Lawrence Schultz in 1955 in Harpers Ferry. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2011. Marie was a full time wife and mother. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening and most of all being a wife, mother and grandmother. Marie is survived by, 2 daughters, Linda Schultz and Diane (Tim) Nesteby. a son, Jim (Jan) Schultz, all of Dubuque 2 grandsons, Brian (Layla) Nesteby, Norfolk, Virginia and Brad Nesteby, Dubuque, 2 granddaughters, Samantha and Hailey Schultz, Dubuque, a brother, Emmett (Patricia) O'Brien, Hastings, MN Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence and a brother, Pat O'Brien. A Marie J. Schultz memorial fund has been established.
