SHARP, Marie "Scottie"
December 24, 1925 – February 24, 2017
Marie Sharp passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years. Marie was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 2011 and sister Susan in 2016. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Maureen; sons John and Gerard (Karen); grandchildren Tim (Elwira), Danielle (Dan), Melissa and Steven; and great- grandchildren Cooper and Mason. Marie immigrated to Canada with her family in 1966. She retired in 1992 after waitressing for 25 years at the Westin Hotel. Marie will be missed by family and friends. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the angels on the third floor of the George Boyack Nursing Home for their care and kindness. A Funeral Mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Parish (1100 Berkshire Boulevard NW) on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Marie's memory directly to the Carewest George Boyack c/o Calgary Health Trust (800, 11012 Macleod Trail SE Calgary, AB T2J 6A5) or online at https:/ /secure.calgaryhealthtrust.ca/memorial. I used to look out my bedroom window. There used to be two people sitting outside in the yard next door. Then there was one and now there is none. I used to lean over my fence and have a conversation with my friends. First one left us and now the other. I used to go on dates to Denny's for breakfast every few months. Now my date has gone. I will miss Marie or as we called her Nana. The world feels a little emptier today. Marie will be missed.

To my Aunt Marie-my godmother. I'm so glad I spent all my last Monday afternoon's with you. Even if it was quiet and we just held hands. I love you and will miss you dearly but I know you were tired. You are now in peace with uncle Pat. Love Gina,Dean and Family.

I wish to convey my condolences. Scottie was a marvellous colleague when I worked at the Owl's Nest and was a very welcoming and gracious lady with a heart of gold who was helpful to a young immigrant from the UK when I first started at the hotel in the seventies.

We were so glad to have made it over to see Aunt Marie last year and as ever, she was amazing! My favourite Aunt will be sadly missed but her memories will live on and she can now be at peace and free from her suffering. Love to all the family.
