I worked with Marie at Donnelley and after a hectic close of a directory region, she sat at her desk and painted Christmas ornaments. She gave me one of her wonderful ornaments and I remember her with fondness each time I look at the ornament on my Christmas tree.

I was 14 and Arlene was 12 when I met her and her mother Marie, when they lived on Addison & Ashland ave. (Chicago) She'd always kissed and hugged Arlene goodbye when we'd all go out any where. My cousin Kathy & I wanted a mom that did that. Marie was The sweetest woman & mother. I won't forget her. She was just so loving.. So sorry she's gone Arlene.

For Ronnie and the rest of the family. I was so sad to hear of Marie's passing. I have fond memories of going to the house in LaGrange and talking with Marie. She always had a cheerful and happy attitude. My Prayers go out to all of you. She will be missed.

Marie was a wonderful friend to our Mom, Maryann Mantegna. While she has left this world, her creativity, vitality and loving spirit lives on through her children and grandchildren. God Bless.

My deepest condolences to the Vrhel family. Marie lived a long life surrounded by her loving children and adoring grand children. I am very grateful that I had the chance to visit with her this past June. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a terrific sense of independence. After a life well lived, she will lovingly be laid to rest in peaceful repose. May God's countenance surround her family in this their time of grief and loss.
