Marilyn Soulant Donnaud

Memphis - Marilyn Joyce Soulant Donnaud, a sixty-year resident of Memphis, Tennessee, departed this life on July 26, 2023.

Marilyn was literally born at home, in her beloved Crescent City of New Orleans, LA., to Paul Thomas Leo Soulant and Viola Mae Brewer Soulant on June 16, 1930, the fifth of their seven daughters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, five of her 7 sisters, one brother and her former husband, Marvin S. Donnaud.

Her children and her love of cooking were the greatest joys of her life. Coming to Marilyn's home meant she was going to cook for you - red beans and rice, gumbo, or another of her NOLA favorites.

Marilyn is survived by her children Janis Donnaud (Peter Gethers) of NYC, Marsha Donnaud Silverstein (Pete Dunn) of Memphis, TN., Nancy Donnaud Butcher (Thomas) of Collierville, TN., David Donnaud of Memphis, TN., Gary Donnaud of Oakland, TN., Bryan Donnaud (Christie), of Memphis, TN., and granddaughters Carly Crawford (Nikki Veit) and April Donnaud, all of Memphis, and her only living sister, Eileen Johnston, of McAllen, TX. She leaves a multitude nieces and nephews, all of whom she thought of as her own.

The family is especially grateful to the staff of Baptist Reynolds Hospice House and her dedicated and caring companions, Katherine Anthony, Vicky Arnett, Barbara Gavalas, Enola Griffith, Liz Miller, Linda Fay Moore and Shelbie Henry.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31st, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at 11:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN. Private burial to follow.

Marilyn was happiest surrounded by children. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to
