I met Marilyn in Seattle when I started my first job in Occupational therapy. We were co-workers at first but it evolved into a friendship. We many good times at our job, believe it or not. My husband and I socialized with Bob and Marilyn and stayed in touch after they moved from Edmonds to Phoenix. We visited with Marilyn earlier this year and had a very nice visit. She was such a trooper through all her challenges. I was saddened to hear of her passing. I will miss her but grateful to have known her as my friend. My condolences to Leah and the rest of her family. Candy Diaz

I met Marilyn and Bob before I married their good friend Leon. Over the years that they lived here in Minnesota, we enjoyed weekends fishing at old style family resorts. Fishing, cribbage and 2 little girls were always part of those joyous times. Marilyn as was her way made it so fun. I especially remember the years she was in her Occupational Therapy college courses, she persevered through very difficult classes. And it is true that she was always passionate about her work that cared for so many. Our many years visiting Arizona in the winter usually included golf with Marilyn and Bob. And cribbage. And visits. Marilyn´s loving non-stop care for Bob, our Best Man during his last illness was energetic and never left a detail unattended. Their dedication and love for each other was so precious. Annoyed by her own diagnosis, she kept fighting. And was always so gracious about the changes forced on her by the disease. I came to see her her last 2 days on earth. She opened her eyes and squeezed my hand. Our hello and good bye was complete. Such a precious and unique friend. I was astounded by the dedication and active support of her brothers and sisters. It mattered so much to her. She adored being a grandma, because she thoroughly loved being a mother. A loyal friend. I shall miss her. Praying for comfort for her family. Love from Sharon Mertz
