My deepest condolences to Joan's family. I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Joan at the OLA Bridge group nearly seven years ago, and she was a skilled player, always sharp and spirited. Joan generously shared her delicious baked goods often, creating many enjoyable moments for us all. She will be greatly missed, and I hope you find comfort knowing she is at peace.

My name is Blake Williams. I had the privilege of cutting Joan´s hair for the last two years. From the moment I saw her coming in for a landing in her little red car for the first time in front of the salon, and sprinting to the door, I instantly fell in love with her.
And she will always be remembered, because I think I shared this with every client, that when I asked her if she had any trips planned for the new year, she looked up at me and said "oh honey, I don´t even buy green bananas ". It took me a couple of seconds to realize what that meant and I burst out laughing.
It made it extra funny to me because she had such a positive attitude all of the times that I had the privilege to see her. I told her that I had to keep changing her age as I told people that story because she was 95, then 96, then 97...I always get a laugh when I share that story about that feisty little lady and I will continue to share it with fond remembrance. Love you Joan!

I first met Joan in 1994, when we moved to Holly Springs, NC. We lived right behind Mary and Craig. I loved Joan and admired the relationship she and Mary had. She was always so kind to me and our family. She was always busy with helping others. She was blessed and we were blessed to have known her.
