Marilyn Miller Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 4, 2017.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Marilyn Lucille Miller from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Augusta Memorial Chapel, 203 N Armstrong in Litchfield, Minn.

Marilyn loved being with friends and family. She loved to laugh, and did so often and contagiously. In addition to being a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was an artist who enjoyed painting and decorating. Those close to her, including her caretakers, loved her.

Marilyn was born Jan. 12, 1930. She graduated in 1948 from Atwater High School.

She married N. Ronald Nelson in 1950 and they lived on a farm in Meeker County. They were members of Beckville Lutheran Church and three children were born to them: Ronald L., Randall and Sharee. After N. Ronald died in 1978, Marilyn moved to Litchfield, Minn., and became a member of First Lutheran Church. Their son, Ronald L., died in 1997.

In 1986, Marilyn married Lewis Miller, a U.S.A.F. veteran. They initially resided in San Antonio, and later in Litchfield, Minn., traveling part of the year. Lewis moved to the St. Cloud VA Medical Center in 2003, and resided there until his death from dementia in 2013.

Marilyn passed away quietly at Cottagewood Senior Communities, Rochester, in the presence of family on Nov. 26, 2016. She was 86. Her ashes will rest in Beckville Lutheran Cemetery in rural Meeker County.

She is survived by her son, Randall S. (and Marge) Nelson of Rochester; daughter, Sharee M. Nelson of Rochester; daughter-in-law, Diane Nicholson; brothers, Paul (and Joanne) Miller and Russell (and Dorraine) Miller; sisters-in-law, Margaret Miller and Meg Miller; brother-in-law, David Nagorski; six grandchildren, Troy, Travis, Tricia, Jacob, Alissa and Mitchell; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ruby (Bergquist) Miller; husband, N. Ronald Nelson; husband, Lewis Miller; son, Ronald L. Nelson; brothers, John Miller and Donald Miller; and sister, Helen Nagorski.
