I was one of Marilyn's stringer photographers in the late 1980s, and even assisted her in her wedding photography sideline. Marilyn became my friend and teacher. I was able to use the Today darkroom to develop and print my own B&W work, and the combination of newspaper and self-assignment helped me grow beyond measure. Marilyn taught me about light and she shed it. I trust she will have risen in glory by now.

My deepest condolences and sympathy to the Murphy family. Marilyn was my dear neighbor when I lived in West Milford....she was one of the kindest, nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and becoming friends with. My late husband loved her as well....I am so very sad to hear of her passing. We corresponded briefly when she moved to Virginia, but lost touch when I also moved. I will always remember her.....may she R.I.P. with the other angels....Laura Hein and family....

Marilyn will be forever remembered for her instinctive ability to connect with all things living - through her camera lens, her paintbrushes, her words and her deep friendship.Having her as a friend has been a treasure, now sorely missed.
