Marilyn Quirk Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 8, 2024.
Marilyn Quirk, age 59, of Independence, MO, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2024. She was born on March 20, 1965, in Harrisonville, Missouri, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Marilyn's sudden passing has left a profound hole in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a woman of warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness, always putting others before herself. Her family and friends will remember her for her boundless love, quick wit, and the countless moments of joy and laughter she brought into their lives.

Marilyn had a knack for making everyone feel welcome, whether you were family, friend, or just someone passing by. She was the type of person who could brighten a room with a smile, ease your worries with a laugh, and, if needed, offer advice-whether you asked for it or not (and let's be honest, you probably didn't have a choice).

Marilyn is survived by her Husband Bob Quirk, Her five children Corey & Alex Parrish of Jacksonville Florida, Zach Parrish of Pensacola, Florida, Jesse, Carrie, and Shelbie Quirk of the home. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jay, Izzy, Athena, Charlotte, and Connor Parrish (Jacksonville, Florida), and her sister Cheryl Bush of Harrisonville, Missouri. She was predeceased by her parents Gene & Peggy Duncan of Harrisonville Missouri.

While her passing was sudden and heartbreaking, her family finds comfort in the love she shared with all of them. A celebration of her life will be held on November 14th, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, located at 1400 W Sheley Rd, Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to a substance abuse center or Women's Employment Network.

Marilyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

I met Marilyn in Hawaii when we welcomed Izzy to the family. We were instant friends and kept in touch. I am deeply saddened by her sudden passing. We were chatting just a few months ago. I will miss her! She loved her family very deeply.
