Marilyn Ross Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 5, 2024.
Marilyn Kay Ross, 65, of Aledo, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2024, in Fort Worth. She was born on November 3, 1958, in Fort Worth to the late Charles Jordan and Shirley Sitton (Vass).

Marilyn, known for her loving nature and strong sense of dependability, had a fulfilling career as a custodial staff member at Weatherford ISD in Weatherford, Texas, and Westwood Community Schools in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. She cherished her role in these schools, especially working with the children, as she had a deep love for kids. Marilyn's dedication to her work and her warm relationships with her coworkers made her feel like what she did mattered.

Family was of utmost importance to Marilyn, and spending time with her grandkids brought her the greatest joy. She loved each one of them fiercely and deeply. Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Tim) Schneider of Mason, Texas, and Katie Ross of Fort Worth, Texas; her sons, Brandon (Erica) Ross of Wyandotte, Michigan, and John Story of Inkster, Michigan; her sisters, Kathy (Daylin) Ratzlaff of Aledo, Texas, and Pamela Jordan of Fort Worth, Texas; her brothers, Jerry Jordan of New Boston, Texas, and Charlie Jordan of Fort Worth, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren, Cody, Cassidy, Alicia, Terry, Nevaeh, Abby, CJ, Junior, Rowan, and Austin. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and friends who loved her like family!

Marilyn attended Everyman High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1977. Outside of work and family, Marilyn's world revolved around celebrating her grandkids. Their accomplishments and milestones were always a reason for her to celebrate.

Memorial services for Marilyn will be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Weatherford Youth Association. Marilyn had a special place in her heart for these children and loved watching them play.

Please join us in remembering and honoring Marilyn Kay Ross, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who will forever be cherished in our hearts.

Marilyn had a big heart for the kids at Crockett Elementary. She formed a special bond with my oldest child when he attended kindergarten there, always bringing him little gifts, toys and trinkets. She always gave him a big hug every morning. She will be missed.

Mom has always despised the color pink. So when she started to get granddaughters she told them they couldn't wear pink to her house because she was allergic. And if they wore it to her house and touched her while wearing pink that it would send her to the hospital. So it became a cat and mouse chase game everytime my kids would go to grandma's because they had to wear pink so they could chase mom in and out of the house and across the yard.

Fun memory of mom. She has always hated the color pink. When grandkids started to be born she would tell them she was allergic to pink and that if they touched her while wearing pink that they would send her to the hospital. So all the granddaughters would purposely wear pink when they would go to grandma's so they could chase her with pink on!
