MARILYN SANDERS Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 25 to Apr. 26, 2023.
SANDERS Long-time San Jose resident Marilyn Frances Sanders, died April 3,2023 in Vancouver, WA, three days shy of her 87th birthday.

A person's life is more than just the end. Born in San Francisco in 1936 to Irene and James Lennon, Marilyn grew up in Atherton, CA where she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School for Girls and Menlo College.

Marilyn met Robert "Bud" Sanders at a Bay Area roller rink where they became a competitive Dance Skating pair. They married May 14, 1955. After briefly residing in Oceanside, CA during Bud's Marine Corps service, Marilyn and Bud made their home first in Sunnyvale and then San Jose, where they raised six children.

A devoted mother & grandmother, avid bowler, and loyal SF Giants and 49ers fan, Marilyn enjoyed her children and grandchildren's sports, music, theater and dance activities. Marilyn was a faithful volunteer for the El Camino Hospital Foundation for more than twenty years in gratitude for their care of her son Timothy. She continued her volunteer efforts into TeleCare when she was no longer able to get to the hospital in person.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, son Timothy and extended family, Marilyn is survived by her children: Vicki, Judy, Bob, Jennifer and Christopher, their spouses; Ben, Paula, Craig, Kimberly and Jill, grandchildren: Erin Files, Adam Campbell, Emily Campbell, Andrew Consiglio, Christine Covarrubias, John Consiglio, Rob, Charlie, Tim, Alex and Janine Sanders, Tom and Harrison Euler, Erik, Abigail (Ray), Katherine and Lily Sanders, Kevin Sanders and Kaitlyn Norgard along with their spouses; and great-grandchildren: Reilly and Reagan Files, Ivy Campbell, Annabelle Consiglio, Dea and Andres Covarrubias, and Peyton and Quinn Norgard.

Marilyn is interred next to her husband at Los Gatos Memorial Park, Los Gatos, CA. A celebration of life may take place at a time and date yet to be determined. The family asks that those wishing to honor Marilyn do so by taking your family bowling and thinking of her, or by making a small donation to the charity of your choice or one of the following: Magnolia Gardens Adult Family Home at https://www.magnoliasch.com. God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command, we return to dust.
Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.
In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen.

Kyrie, eleison.
Christe, eleison
Kyrie, eleison.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard to say goodbye. I still have the bowling ball she gave me that was one of her old balls when they briefly join the family team. She also has had sick a big heart to always make you feel special and important. She will continue to share that love from heaven.

Tough one, Chris. Your mom deserves to be on the Mount Rushmores of moms.
